                                  AT A HIGH SIERRAS CAMPSITE "

           Introduction:  The Bigfoot Investigation Project was formerly Project Grendle and later Project Bigfoot and
          was HQ' ed  Seattle,WA and Bellingham,WA. The mission was to get to the bottom of the sasquatch stories.\
    Notice: Bigfoot or unclassified primates are not simple animals like the chimps that Jane Goodall could
           feed and hang out with. They do not pose for your camera. They hide, they peek, and they are always
           at least 90 feet from you, where you often do not see them, but your camera does. As you read this site,
           do not forget this caveat. It is not how well we could photograph them, but rather it was amazing we could
           get any photos at all. These are the best stills since the Patterson-Gimlin 58 sec movie of 1967. -- Why so many
           creatures? One would expect just one...  Well, they travel in family or tribal groups, just as gorillas , chimps,
           baboons, or humans do. So, you are seeing photos of an extended family, or a clan. Why not?

In 1978, I was contacted by a disk jockey in the SF Bay area, a "Dr. Don", who had a talk show, and he put me on to a lady named
Judy Grant who told me that she had a photo of a blond bigfoot. I was in Bellingham at the time, looking for Bigfoot (which I found)
but I had no photos, so I arranged to come down to meet this lady and go see the area with her, and to look at her photos.

She had some 110 negs and prints, taken with a plastic $40 camera of the 110 format. This is smaller than 35 mm, and close to
a 16mm Minox type camera. It is rarely used today, but was very popular back then. It fits in your back pocket.

The main photo showed a being that she had not seen while camping, but which her friends noticed later when she showed them
her camping photos.  She had gone there with her son and her boyfriend. She was recently divorced. The photo in question showed
a tall being or entity, 125 feet away, across a pond that was part of a creek. It was brown on the body, but had a blond head of hair.
Particularly interesting was that it was reflected in the water of the pond, in the early morning light. She also had other photos that
showed various smaller Bigfoot creatures at other spots around this pond, also not seen at the time. (These to be mounted later.)
She had seen none of them.

We drove up to the El Dorado National Forest, to the campsite in question, and we stayed camped out in her pickup truck
bed, under a hard shell, just 1/4 mile from the actual site, since it was late when we arrived. In the morning, we hiked in and then
hiked back to get the truck. Stangely, the lock on the back had been opened, and the back entry door had been opened, but
nothing was taken.

We drove in and set up camp. We found the site where the Bigfoot had stood, and made measurements. Using a measuring
pole we had taken along, and finding a tree branch where the Bigfoot had come up to  30 days before, we found it had been
nine feet tall !  A picture was taken of Judy with the pole in place. Also---  a single track was found at the spot, embedded in the
pine needles. It was not castable.

 That night, we hear howling-screeches from up the ridge, that were not coyote sounds. Also, something seemed to be cautiously
creeping about near our packs at night, be we never could see it.

The next day, on a hike up to the ridge, we found another single track in the pine needles, similar to the one by the pond.
We also found a flat area under some pines,  where there were 6-8  conical piles of  pine-nut debris, each 3-4 feet tall.
This was far too organized and large for squirrels to do. Something taller than the piles was making them, as it ate. Bears do not
eat pine cones or pine nuts. Neither do humans.

As we left this zone,  we found something unseen was following us. We heard steps. Crackling of dead branches. As we stopped to
look back, it would stop. When we walked, it would walk. When we got close to camp, it went away.

While in camp, I took a number of photos of the area, for the record. It seems Bigfoot was also in them, but I saw nothing.

We spent one more night, heard more screams, and more creeping sounds, then left the next day.

She explained that she had originally taken her main photo, the Blond Bigfoot Photo, when she had woken early at dawn and
had watched the sun come up, lighting up the other side of the pond from the campsite, with fingers of light. She took a photo of
that happening, and did not see the Bigfoot then.

Subsequent computer enhancement by a supporter, Alan Gillespie,  of our Sasquatch Research Project (formerly Project Grendel) at JPL in Pasadena showed that in B&W enhancements that the being as a very weird and distorted head/face  that appears to have two overlapping faces, sharing one eye in common (so  it has three). Large canine teeth can be seen, and there are at least three  children on the creature, one approximately 12 yrs old in terms of humans,  clutching the body,and two younger ones on the back and shoulders of the adult. (This is consistant with the Patterson-Gimlin Film and the Lori Pate Footage. Bigfoot carries kids.)

Note: what is "Bigfoot" ?  It is an emotionally laden term, and carries a lot of baggage with it. Too many people have decided
what it is, or is not, or has to be, without having ever spent one day in the woods. So far, it is an un-catchable entity that the Indians
tell us was here long before they got here. Perhaps  "tall, non-human primatoid entity" is better.

MORE 1978 ---  HEAD AND TORSO OF CREATURE, PRIMATE/HOMINOID WITH HEADS

                      Codename "Peter-g"  this is a head and a torso and it has one or maybe two heads on its chest,
                                                  possibly children, or siblings. Their bodies are hiden by brush. Ignore the circular line at bottom.

The following year, since I knew Bigfoot was showing up in photos where we did not see them directly, due to distance, I returned with a camping
partner, Susy Adams, of Seattle. I had a hunch that Bigfoot was attracted to women and children. Susy was also a girlfriend and
good company.

On this trip, I took everything but the kitchen sink.Three big footlockers of camera gear and camping gear. We flew to SF,
took a bus to Stockton, and hired a man with a pick up to get us into the site in the mountains on the way to Tahoe. About 6000
feet. I had 16mm motion picture equipment, 35mm still cameras, a 35mm Hollywood movie camera, tripods, Polaroids, a 120
medium format still camera, and lots of audio gear. (I still had not learned.) I felt that it was merely lack of equipment that had prevented a major Bigfoot discovery to that date. (ho ho ho ). I also took enlargements of the various BF photos I and Judy had taken, so that these might entice the creatures to return.

           The 1979  Sierra Ponds Expedition,  by Project Bigfoot, (Later changed to the Sasquatch Research Project),
with your webmaster and  Susy Adams  here in a newspaper photo. With 16mm, 35mm, 120 camera, binoculars, bait,
photos from the last year, recorders, and more. What would we get?

       Appears to be same being, only it has moved its head, towards the kids fishing. In 281, there is

"Dog-faced Bigfoot" reported :  "I received a second-hand report that an elderly lady has witnessed a "tall, lanky, kinda skinny, gorilla shaped creature, with long arms, covered with red/brown fur head to toe" cross a dirt road on two legs in front of her car one night 2 years ago. This was in the Erving State Forrest (MA). She saw the same creature again last year crossing the same road early one morning. She said it looked right at her. The weird thing about her report is that she insists that it had a "Collie" like face. Has anyone heard of such a thing? Maybe she grew up watching too many episodes of "Lassie" or something....either that or we have some kind of skinny, bipedal "Dogfoot" walking around in the Erving State Forest. "

There is also a book called "The Beast of Bray Road"  that discusses the same thing.

                 Beckjord standing at the spot where most of the photos below were taken in 1979, and some of those
                 in 1978. The view from this spot on a small rise is towards the pond and its end, some 235 ft away.
                                   Perhaps the beings felt safer with water separating us. Some cameras do look like guns.

We started by finding  a line 13  Bigfoot tracks doing up the rise from the pond at the far end, on a diagonal. All deep in the
sand and debris. Then some single tracks in the mud by the water. Three at widely separated spots. Large and skinny feet.
14 inches.

During the week, I took color and B&W photos of all the spots where BFs had appeared before, and I was hoping for similar or better results than 1978.

During the camp out, we had some kids appear from a neighboring campsite, and they made  alot of noise and and proceeded to fish, throwing out fish lines and bait. For the record, a took some B&W 35mm shots of them. I also took B&W Infrared shots
when Susy and I were alone. More about these later.

To cut to the chase, we had a relaxing week there, doing nude swimming and sunning, since no other campers came
up during the weekdays. The 16 mm camera had a malfunction and jammed often. We never had a reason to use the
35mm movie camera with its very very expensive film. I took lots of stills in all formats and colors. Polaroid photos showed on the spot that some strange images were in the close by rocks that we could not see by eyes alone.

Then we went home.

From the lab, I found that the B&W fine-grain film had recorded the kids fishing. It also caught something else.
To the left of the kids, were I had taken a color photo then year before that had a cluster of BF creatures in it, were more
creatures, but strange ones (stranger than Bigfoot?).
 

There are four frames in B&W, all taken at asa 125  using a 35mm Minolta camera, with a 50 mm lens. The images here are cropped and enlarged to show the creatures. These are basically three beings, with heads showing, that have broad faces, no forehead, a flat-top type head, a long muzzle, large oval or round black eyes and mouths that are shut. Two photos show the same being that has moved its head from full profile to quarter profile, showing it was alive and not a model, while the other photo shows
two beings full front on. (It is also to be seen in subsequent years , in different positions around one main tree, as if it were a
"resident alien"....). We also have another head image, from the same set of bushes, and will add this later. It looks more like a primate. That will make four creatures. (Note on the photo below on left - there is some sort of spiraling vapour coming out of the

 Note: Left photo, enlarged, is from frame #3, and middle one is from frame #5. In the left frame, some viewers may see
a small monkey head and and hands on top of the creature's head on its left, by the dark treetrunk. Nickname "Jane".
 Note: critics have said "there are no eyes" -- well, we cannot see any primate eyes, but then, abductees have reported over and
over that aliens who examine them on tables in ships have large total-surface type eyes, like insects. No pupils, no iris. So look again at these photos. Others complain these are "rocks" -- well these beings move into other positions in other frames, and
there are no such rocks at that spot.. just  large half-buried boulders, and tree branches. We'll post some close ups of that zone
shortly. Otghers say (Like NASA) " A trick of light and shadow"... well, we checked this out at same time of day, and all shadows are very diffuse and greyish, nothing solid and black or white. You have to hold a piece of cardboard  6 inches from a surface for a dark shadow to appear. Tree branch shadows  are all diffused. Tree trunk shadows are long retangles, as a tube would make.
Our enemies in the Bigfoot field, which are legion,  are VERY UPSET that these images got on George Noory's site. Suffer!.

 We returned in 1981, with myself and three recently divorced men who wanted a change. One was a professional moutain lion tracker
who said his dogs refused to follow Bigfoot tracks. We stayed a week, took CBS news at first, and as soon as the crew left, we began to
find tracks and hear screams -- very,very close. These below were some of our results.

FLASH!  We found one more image similar to Roderick -- taken 1981. Same general area (it moved)  It has a CHIN....something apes do not have. Also, in Kodak print, it has a eyeball.
Note the same long nosebridge, deep eyes, flat top, no forehead. Floppy hair on one side.

                      Entity  "Dmitri"  -(after a Russky researcher) -1978
  This guy was peeking around a dead tree at the exit area of the pond water, and about 150 ft to left of where
entities 1-4  had been the next year (1979).  FYI, there was ten feet of empty space behind this dead tree, down.
This head of this entity has the flat top, two eyes with binocular vision, a long prominent nose-bridge/air passage,
an extended (prognathous) muzzle, and perhaps a slightly open mouth. No real forehead. Something like a cross
between a baboon and a wolf. Has some of the traits of entities 1-4. Is "Bigfoot" a mixture of baboon, wolf, human and
ape?

                                        "Saint  Sasquatch"  --  is a gorilla style head in a tre 40 ft up from the master
                                           photo from the 1978 exped.  235 ft from camera. Has ring of lights over head.
                                           Also, an eye in center of those lights. Note split muzzle below nose, and eyes
                                           (normal ones) just below halo. Are supernatrural sasquatch beings sent to

     but  there seems to have been a congregation of entities or unknown animals at this one camp spot. If  we hid

In the late 60s we lived in Station Street, Crewe, which we left when the whole area was to be slum-cleared. The houses were old fashioned, very basic terraced ones opening directly onto the street, and as everyone knew everyone else it was safe to 'play out' quite late at night. One evening, Mark (aged about 9) was walking along the wide pavement when he saw some characters coming toward him. There were 3 I think, and they were somewhat taller than people.

They were dressed as men in suits, but had very large DOGS' HEADS!! These heads swayed widely from side to side as the creatures walked. Mark was absolutely terrified as they approached, but they seemed not to notice him and he passed them safely. He ran all the way home and only told me about the 'Big Dogs' as he called them some time later. I laughed my head off, thinking he was trying to scare me. When it became obvious that he was really scared, I tried to figure out what he'd seen. My 10-year old brain could only come up with ghosts or aliens, neither of which seemed to fit the bill.
