THERE ARE THREE MAIN THEORIES ON BIGFOOT AND ALL OF THEM WILL ATTRACT
PEOPLE
WHO LIKE THEM AND THINK THAT THE OTHER ONES ARE ALL WRONG.
1) BIGFOOT DOES NOT EXIST. IT IS ALL A HOAX, A MISIDENTIFICATION, OR A GIANT MISTAKE.
2) BIGFOOT DOES EXIST BUT AND IS AN ANIMAL, A PRIMATE, RELATED EITHER TO HUMANS OR TO GORILLAS, BUT AS YET NOT CAUGHT.
3) BIGFOOT EXISTS,
BUT NOT AS A NORMAL ANIMAL, BUT RATHER AS SOMETHING "NOT-NORMAL",
IN ONE OF
SOME DOZEN ALTERNATE POSSIBILITIES, AND THIS EXPLAINS WHY IT HAS NEVER
BEEN CAUGHT.
PART ONE IS ESPOUSED BY SKEPTICS WHO THINK PARTS 2 & 3 ARE ALL NONSENSE.
Flesh and Blood
people (the majority of email bigfooters, and newbies)
cannot view any possibility of the Alternative Theory
ever happening,
since they cannot imagine ANYTHING ever happening that is in the Alternative
mode. It is a case of black and white
vs. grey.
F&B people tend to ridicule and even persecute Alternative theory people,
but they are unable to produce the evidence
(none in 1,406
years) that will validate their position.
Alternative Theory
people are often field investigators who finally had strange or paranormal
events happen to them while doing
investigations
and intelligent novices who simply add up all the facts and the non-facts
and make a rational conclusion.
Investigators
usually start as SKEPTICS, and take maybe 5 years to change
to F&B people. Most stay that way all their lives, despite
the moist feeling
they get by pounding their heads
**
on the brick
walls of frustration.
Some, after 5-10
years of actual field work, finally transition to the ALTERNATIVE THEORY.
Does holding theory mean one stops doing research?
No - if you think
about it, studying something that can shape-shift, disappear, leave tracks
that "end" for no good reason in snow or mud,
seemingly morph
into other animals or even people, paralyze investigators in their
sleeping bags temporarily, create "missing time" with
some F.I.s or
witnesses, is really far more important to science than discovering
just some new ape. Think about that.
DO F&B AND ALTERNATIVE THEORY PEOPLE HAVE TO BE AT WAR OR CAN THEY DO FIELD WORK TOGETHER??
The answer is
yes, they can work together to mutually find out what is going
on at any given site. Each can "work their side of the bushes"
and compare notes,
evidence, photos, later around the campfire.
** This is the BOX, that the AT people ask the F&B people to "think outside of" ("Think outside the box")
At the B.I.P.,
we encourage all beleivers and non-believers to work together, regardless
of theories. Treat this as the BIG TENT of Henry
Franzoni, where
all are welcome to join together, discuss and debate without acrimony.
(We have had one exped. with a Major Skeptic
from CSICOP and
we learned that BF activity starts up when the skeptics drive home.)
